Turning marine biomass into tomorrow’s building materials.

Form Følger Fjord is a collaborative research project aiming to create a regenerative model for bio-based materials from Danish marine resources.

We are advancing a bio-based building material developed through a previous research project and demonstrated in a six-metre-tall architectural installation at the Venice Biennale 2025.

Building on this proof of concept, the project brings together research and industry to transform underutilised marine biomass into a resource for a low-carbon, regenerative building component.

Through further testing, system development, and a full-scale façade demonstration, the project aims to establish its technical, environmental, and commercial potential for circular construction and future architectural applications.
